The Minnesota Generative AI Alliance (MNGAIA) is fundamentally rooted in Human-Centered Design (HCD), ensuring technology serves people to elevate the quality of human work and learning in education.
Minnesota will lead the way in integrating AI into education, ensuring every learner gains the knowledge, skills, and agency to shape the future. AI must personalize learning, fuel innovation, and empower students to think critically, solve complex problems, and thrive in an evolving workforce. Critically, this integration must be rooted in ethical, transparent, and inclusive practices, ensuring AI supports—not replaces—educators, thereby strengthening relationships and guaranteeing equitable access to high-quality learning.
Strong connections between students, educators, and mentors are essential. AI must assist, but never replace, the human relationships that drive growth and success.
Committing to equitable access and opportunities for every individual, ensuring AI expands possibilities rather than perpetuating systemic biases.
AI should enhance—not replace—human decision-making. Clear policies and ethical guidelines must protect privacy, ensure accountability, and promote transparency.
Our work is iterative. We prioritize thoughtful evaluation and flexibility, adapting our approach as technology and human needs evolve.
Every strategic pillar falls under two core priorities:
Establishing Guardrails
Reclaiming Time for Connection
(Pillars 1 & 3)
Fostering Human Potential
Systemic Coherence
(Pillars 2 & 4)
